I have developed a niche specializing in physical therapy for the dance athlete, with a strong passion for working with runners, dancers, fitness athletes, and individuals with chronic pain. I earned my Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with a minor in dance from Chapman University. While completing my Doctor of Physical Therapy, I gained valuable exposure to performing arts rehabilitation by studying with an Australian physiotherapy clinic that serves the Queensland Ballet and Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

After my love for the outdoors brought me to Salt Lake City, Utah, I have had opportunities to provide treatment for the Velocity Dance Convention, Live Nation artists, and multiple local races, while also partnering with local dance studios to educate and assess dancers. Over the past several years, I have obtained certifications in dry needling and myofascial decompression, along with the Fitness Athlete Certified Specialist and Pelvic Certified Specialist credentials through the Institute of Clinical Excellence.

I currently serve as a research physical therapist at the University of Utah and am a part owner of Pure Performance Rehab. In addition to my clinical work, I aid and lead instruction for Pure Performance Rehab’s Dry Needling Upper and Lower Quarter courses, contributing to the education and development of other clinicians. My mission is to better fortify my patients against injury so they can pursue their passions for a lifetime. Outside of the clinic, I can be found investing time in many extra-curriculars that I love but am only moderately good at:  running, dancing, mountain biking, skiing and CrossFit.

I received my clinical doctorate from The Medical College of Georgia in 2009 (DPT). I also completed an orthopedic residency (OCS) and orthopedic manual therapy fellowship (FAAOMPT) through Evidence in Motion and is certified in dry needling, spinal manipulation, Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS), Functional Movement System, Selective Functional Movement Screen and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Most recently, I completed my doctoral training from the University of Utah (Ph.D), where I now hold a research faculty position. Additionally, I’ve been educating other physical therapists across the nation on topics such as dry needling, orthopedic management, spinal manipulation, and pain science since 2013.

I have played multiple sports and recently retired from women’s professional tackle football, ending my 8-year career with the national champion Utah Falconz. I found CrossFit towards the end of my football career and fell in love with the constant challenge. I achieved Level 1 and 2 CrossFit certifications to help people realize their true potential. I enjoy bringing my knowledge of physical therapy to coaching and knowledge of CrossFit to my physical therapy practice.

I am originally from Hood River, Oregon. I grew up playing basketball, soccer and lacrosse and ended up playing club lacrosse at Western Washington University. I made my way to Utah for physical therapy school in 2015. After I graduated in 2018, I was accepted to the orthopedic residency through the University of Utah and VA health systems. This year-long program of mentorship and additional didactic material advanced my practice and prepared me to take the next step to become Board Certified in Orthopedics. It was around this time that I also discovered CrossFit. I instantly fell in love with the encouraging and competitive atmosphere and constantly varied training. This type of training also enhances the performance of some of my other hobbies such as mountain biking, skiing, and hiking. Being physically active is a cornerstone of my lifestyle. It is my passion to help individuals overcome an acute injury or chronic condition in order to get back to doing what they love. I look forward to doing the same for you!
